Job Description
American Traveler is seeking a Pediatric Occupational Therapist experienced in outpatient feeding therapy and sensory integration for a 20-week day shift contract in a children’s hospital setting.
Responsibilities- Work in a pediatric outpatient therapy department
- Day shift schedule: 4x10s (Mon, Wed, Thu, Fri from 8:00 to 18:30, Tuesday off)
- 20-week assignment
- Patient focus includes pediatric feeding/eating difficulties, sensory processing, and mild oral motor issues
- Team meetings held once per month on Tuesdays, optional for the therapist
- Use of Epic for charting; prior experience preferred but not required
- No on-call requirement; possible call-offs based on census
- Travelers may float within the hospital and to satellite locations including NICU
- Deliver specialized care for children with feeding and sensory processing challenges
- Work alongside a multidisciplinary pediatric team in a Level 1 trauma, teaching hospital environment
- Scrubs may be any color
- Free parking is available for travelers
- First-time travelers are welcome
- Up to 6 days of requested time off allowed; must work 2 out of 3 holidays
- Locals within a 50-mile radius are not eligible
- Must wait one year after permanent staff employment before being eligible to travel
- Mileage reimbursement provided when floating to other locations outside the home base for NICU and Home Care positions
- Pre-assignment modules must be completed before the start date
- Active CA OT license required if applicable
- NBCOT certification required
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 1 year of pediatric occupational therapy experience
- Experience with pediatric outpatient therapy, feeding techniques, autism, and sensory diet programs required
- Children’s hospital experience preferred but not required
- Brief statement on pediatric feeding experience required for consideration
