Overview
The Person nel Commission announces an OPEN and PROMOTIONAL recruitment. This recruitment will result in the establishment of one integrated eligibility list. Promotional candidates will have seniority points added to final passing scores (.25 of a point for every year of classified service up to a maximum of 5 points). This list will be used to fill current and future vacancies and will be active for one year or until canceled.
(The names of eligible candidates on the current list will be merged to the new list in accordance with final scores.) There are currently multiple positions open at various sites. These positions are less than 3.75 hour/day, 10‑month positions.
- Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, assist in maintaining a safe and orderly environment, discipline, and student control during non‑instructional periods and perform related work as required.
- Supervise and discipline students according to approved policies and procedures.
- Respond to emergency situations including fire drills and lock‑downs; act quickly and make decisions.
- Work in a cooperative manner with administrators, teachers, students, parents, and other duty staff.
- Use sound judgment in dealing with daily problems, concerns and solving conflict.
- Communicate in a clear, concise manner to students, administrators, teachers, parents and other duty staff.
- Good work history demonstrating dependability and reliability.
- Knowledge of school safety rules and regulations, safety precautions appropriate to student activities, student behavior management strategies and techniques, school and recreational activities.
- Interpersonal skills using tact, patience, and courtesy.
- Basic written and spoken English.
- Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships and conduct with staff, students, and parents.
- Serve as a model and work with students in a manner that promotes positive student cooperation and motivation.
- Understand and carry out instructions from administrators or other school personnel.
- Ability to respond to emergency situations, act quickly, and make decisions.
- 10‑month positions with hours varying but not exceeding 3.75 hours per day.
