Applications are valid through June 30, 2024, at which time they will expire. A new posting for this pool will be posted on July 1, 2024, and those still interested will need to reapply.
Residency requirements: Mira Costa College Board Policy 7800 requires employees to maintain and reside within California (within 200 road miles from the district worksite) for associate faculty. Some assignments may require different residency rules. The district may consider temporary exceptions on a case-by-case basis, not to exceed twelve consecutive months for online assignments or other circumstances as appropriate.
Compensation: $83.03 to $96.25 per hour, based on education. See the current Associate (part-time) Faculty Salary Schedule on the Mira Costa jobs site.
Application Procedure- Transcripts of ALL college degrees/coursework needed to qualify for this position; unofficial or legible copies are acceptable but must indicate that the degree(s) has been conferred, if applicable.
All degrees and units used to satisfy the minimum qualifications must be from postsecondary institutions accredited by an accreditation agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or the Council on Postsecondary Accreditation. If your degree/coursework is outside the United States, you must submit a detailed evaluation from a professional evaluation agency. A partial list of agencies is available from the Governor’s or CTC resources.
Transcripts or translations in English require the evaluation to show U.S. equivalence.
Additional documents may include credential information if needed to meet the minimum qualifications.
Applicants will not be contacted unless selected for interview. Offers of employment are contingent upon:
1) proof of being fully vaccinated for COVID-19 or approved exemption;
2) submission of a current TB test clearance;
3) proof of eligibility to work in the United States;
4) fingerprint clearance;
5) submission of official transcripts or valid California Community College credential.

Minimum QualificationsThe transcripts you attach must state the degree title, major, and date awarded.
Bachelor’s degree and two years of occupational experience related to the subject of the course taught (does not include teaching experience); OR
Associate’s degree and six years of occupational experience related to the subject of the course taught; OR
Full-time, clear California Designated Subjects Adult Education Teaching Credential; OR
Valid California Community College Credential in the discipline; OR
The equivalent.*
