Position Details:
The college is accepting applications to build a pool of instructors for possible future part-time assignments at all locations. The department chairperson or designee will review applications only if vacancies become available. Instructors may be assigned to any campus or authorized facility. Assignments may include days, evenings, or weekends. Applications are valid through June 30, 2024, at which time they will expire.
A new posting for this pool will be posted on July 1, 2024, and those still interested will need to reapply at that time.
Residency Requirement:
Mira Costa College Board Policy 7800
Employee Residency requires all associate faculty employees to reside in California within two-hundred (200) road miles from the employee s regularly assigned district worksite. Associate faculty with fully online assignments must reside within California but may live beyond 200 miles without exception. The District may consider temporary residency outside California or outside the 200-mile limit for up to twelve months on a case-by-case basis.
Compensation$83.03 to $96.25 per hour. Compensation is based on education. For current salary schedule, visit the Mira Costa jobs site and select “Salary Schedules”.
Employment is contingent upon: proof of being fully vaccinated for COVID-19 or approved exemption, TB test clearance, work eligibility, fingerprint clearance, and submission of official transcripts or valid California Community College credential.

All degrees and units must be from accredited postsecondary institutions. If the degree is from outside the United States, submit a detailed evaluation from a professional evaluation agency. If needed to meet minimum qualifications, provide a copy of a lifetime California Community College credential authorizing service in the discipline.

Minimum QualificationsThe transcripts used to prove minimum qualifications must show degree title, major, and date awarded.
the term “master’s degree in fine arts” may refer to a master’s degree in fine arts subjects including visual arts; MFA in performing arts or non-plastic arts does not qualify.
