Position DetailsThe college is accepting applications to build a pool of instructors for possible future part-time assignments at all locations. The department chairperson or designee will review applications only if vacancies become available. Instructors may be assigned to any campus or authorized facility and assignments may include days, evenings, or weekends.
Residency RequirementMira Costa College Board Policy 7800:
Employee Residency requires all associate faculty employees to maintain and permanently reside in a principal place of residence in the state of California that is within two-hundred (200) road miles from the employee's regularly assigned district worksite. Associate faculty who have a fully online assignment with the District must reside within California, but may live beyond 200 miles from their designated District worksite without requiring the exception detailed below.
The District may consider an individual request to temporarily reside outside of the state or outside the 200‑mile limit on a case‑by‑case basis, not to exceed twelve consecutive months.
$83.03 to $96.25 per hour, based on education. The current Associate (part‑time) Faculty Salary Schedule can be viewed at the Associate Faculty Salary Schedule page on the Mira Costa College website.
Employees must make arrangements for direct deposit of paychecks into the financial institution of their choice, via electronic fund transfer.

Minimum Qualifications- Master’s degree in accountancy or business administration with accounting concentration.
- OR bachelor’s degree in business with accounting emphasis, or business administration with accounting emphasis, or economics with accounting emphasis and master’s degree in business, business administration, business education, economics, taxation, or finance.
- OR bachelor’s degree in accountancy or business administration with accounting concentration, with a Certified Public Accounting (CPA) license valid in California.
- OR a valid appropriate California Community College Credential in the discipline area.
- OR the equivalent, AND sensitivity to and understanding of diverse student backgrounds.
