Acute Care Nurse Practitioner — Singing River Cardiology Clinic - Biloxi;
Full-Time;
Mon-Fri 8am-5pm with 1 in 9 weekend call and one holiday call (rotated).
Location:
Ocean Springs, Gulfport, and Biloxi, Mississippi, United States.
The Nurse Practitioner (NP) is an advanced practice RN working in collaboration with physicians to deliver health care services to meet the specialized physiologic and psychological needs of patients with complex acute, critical, and chronic health conditions. The NP delivers health care services to a population of patients within their scope of certification and education.
Responsibilities- Provide health care services to patients within NP scope of practice, in collaboration with physicians.
- Deliver care for patients with complex acute, critical, and chronic conditions.
- Participate in clinic operations as assigned, including after-hours or on-call responsibilities as per schedule.
Requires successful completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program, with a Master’s Degree in Nursing.
LicensesMississippi State Licensure as a Nurse Practitioner required.
CertificationsAcute Care Nurse Practitioner, Family Medicine Nurse Practitioner, Family Nurse Practitioner, or Acute Geriatric Nurse Practitioner required. Must complete and maintain BCLS upon hire or transfer. Specific certifications may apply by department (e.g., Psychiatric, Surgical, Pediatrics, Wound Care) with associated requirements. Must complete de-escalation training by the end of position orientation (90 days).
ExperienceOne (1) year of advanced nursing experience preferred. For Psychiatric Services, a minimum of two (2) years’ RN experience in an acute care or psychiatric hospital is required; prior Psychiatric NP experience in inpatient/outpatient settings is preferred.
Reports ToSupervising Physician and/or Medical Director;
Administrator, Director of Physician Services, Director of Surgical Services, Operations Director, or designee (for non-clinical).

Physical DemandsWork is moderately active and may require movement within the facility and travel within the SRHS service area. Involves lifting or moving objects and exposure to body fluids and infectious materials. Repetitive motions with wrists/hands; close visual acuity; ability to adjust focus between monitor and documents. Ability to work extended periods and adapt to schedule changes as needed by the hospital.
