Overview
The Clinic Registered Nurse performs under the direct supervision of the Physician and the Practice Manager/Administrator. He/She is a liaison between the patient, physician, and various other components of patient care. The RN assists the physician by taking histories and physician orders; scheduling and evaluating referrals; suture removal; dressing changes; and other responsibilities within the RN scope of practice. He/She assists the patient with health education, medication refills, and general questions about their care.
Location:
Singing River Surgical Services - Ocean Springs, 1124 Oakleigh Rd, Ocean Springs, Mississippi, 39564, United States.
- Take histories and physician orders; schedule and evaluate referrals; suture removal; dressing changes; and other responsibilities within the RN scope of practice.
- Assist the physician by coordinating patient care as a liaison among the patient, physician, and care team.
- Assist the patient with health education, medication refills, and general questions about their care.
- Education: Graduate from NLN school of nursing required.
- License: Currently licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Mississippi.
- Certifications: Must complete and maintain BCLS certification upon hire and/or transfer. Must have de-escalation training completed by the end of position orientation (90 days); must have appropriate level of de-escalation training.
- Experience: Minimum of three years experience in nursing preferred. Must maintain current continuing education units (CEUs). Must possess current skill level for wound care including staple/suture removal.
- Reports To: Provider for direct clinical supervision;
Practice Manager/Administrator and/or Director of Practice Development for general supervision. - Supervises: Other nursing staff as assigned.
- Physical Demands: Work is moderately active with requirements to move about the office and facility; travel to another facility within the SRHS service area; occasional lifting; repetitive motions with wrists, hands, and fingers; close visual acuity for computer/printed materials.
- Mental Demands: Must possess keen mental faculties for managing information and clinical situations; strong communication skills; emotional stability for high-stress clinical environments.
- Special Demands: Superior customer service skills, professional etiquette, and proficiency with computers and office technology (MS Outlook and Word).
