Medical Office Coordinator – Singing River Health System Clinic – Ocean Springs Clinic | Full-Time | Days

Responsibilities
  • Facilitates excellence in patient care by welcoming and assisting patients during their care.
  • Manages clerical functions of the office: answering phones, scheduling appointments, scanning and filing documents, coding and billing, patient referrals, insurance verification and precertification.
  • Serves as Practice Manager / Practice Administrator / Office Manager during the supervisor’s absence.

High School Diploma or equivalent required. Prefer Associate’s Degree in related field.

Experience

Minimum of two (2) years’ progressively responsible medical office experience required. Previous CPT and ICD Coding experience preferred. Previous insurance and precertification experience preferred. Phlebotomy experience preferred.

Physical Demands

Work is moderately active: involves sitting with frequent movement about the office and to another facility within the SRHS service area. Repetitive motions of wrists, hands, and/or fingers while operating standard office equipment (computer keyboard, copier, 10-key). Must be able to perceive normal sound levels and have close visual acuity to compare data on forms and printed material. Must maintain a professional appearance representing SRHS.

Demands

Demonstrate keen mental faculties, assessment and decision-making abilities. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and maintain emotional stability. Ability to multi-task in complex situations and maintain collaborative relationships across SRHS and partner organizations.

Special Demands

Superior customer service and professional etiquette. Proficiency with computers and office software (MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other office technology. Requires travel throughout the SRHS service area with own transportation.
