Position OverviewThe Non-Invasive Cardiology Technician provides efficient and effective diagnostic services to patients in the Non-Invasive Cardiology Department. The technician performs the following procedures:
Electrocardiograms (ECG, SAECG);
Cardiac Stress Tests;
Electroencephalograms (EEG);
Tilt Table Studies; and Holter Monitor Studies. The technician is competent with departmental documentation and workflow within the cardiology data management systems. The technician evaluates diagnostic benefits of services rendered to patients, discusses any difficulties the patient might be having with a procedure with the patient’s physician, and evaluates the quality of technical procedures and/or studies to facilitate accurate interpretation for diagnostic purposes.
- Perform non-invasive cardiovascular procedures as listed above (ECG/SAECG, Cardiac Stress Tests, EEG, Tilt Table Studies, Holter Monitor Studies).
- Maintain competency with departmental documentation and workflow within cardiology data management systems.
- Assess diagnostic benefits of services and communicate any patient difficulties related to procedures with the physician to support accurate interpretations.
High school diploma or equivalent required. Certification courses in electrodiagnostic from an accredited institution preferred.
LicensesN/A
Certifications- Required to complete and maintain current BCLS certification upon hire and/or transfer.
- ACLS preferred.
- Certified Rhythm Analysis Technician (CRAT) or Cardiographic Technician (CCT) by Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) preferred.
- Registered EEG Technician by the American Board of Registry EEG Technician (ABRET) preferred.
Must have de-escalation training completed by the end of position orientation (90 days); must have appropriate level of de-escalation training.
ExperiencePrevious work experience or training under the supervision of an experienced Technician in electrodiagnostic services preferred.

Physical DemandsWork is moderately active: involves sitting with frequent movement around the office and facility, and travel to another facility within the SRHS service area. May require lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling objects. Activities involve repetitive motions of the wrists, hands, and fingers when operating standard office equipment. Exposure to body fluids, sputum and tissues may occur. Requires close visual acuity and ability to adjust focus between computer monitors and printed forms.
Must be able to be active for extended periods and work schedules may change due to hospital needs.
Must demonstrate keen mental faculties, assessment and decision-making abilities. Must have strong communication skills, emotional stability, and ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Attention to detail and ability to multi-task in complex situations. Must maintain collaborative and respectful working relationships.
Special DemandsMust possess superior customer service skills and professional etiquette. Proficient computer and office technology skills (keyboard, MS Outlook, Word, etc.). Ability to apply appropriate clinical judgment for patients of all ages.
