Overview

Clerical Coordinator - Operating Room
Ocean Springs Hospital | Full-Time | 8:30am - 5:00pm Monday - Friday

3109 Bienville Blvd, Ocean Springs, Mississippi, 39564, United States

Responsibilities
  • Perform clerical, receptionist and computer data processing activities to support the Surgical Services team.
  • Ensure operations align with Singing River Health System procedures, policies, accreditation standards, and governing guidelines for health care employees.
  • Coordinate with Surgical Services to maintain efficient department workflow and patient information management.
Qualifications
  • Education:

    High school graduate or equivalent required. Graduate from a Medical Assistant, Unit Coordinator, or similar training program preferred.
  • Experience:

    Previous clerical experience in healthcare preferred. Medical terminology preferred.
  • Licenses/Certifications:

    N/A
  • Skills:

    Proficient computer skills, keyboard proficiency, MS Outlook and Word; strong communication, organization, and multitasking abilities.
Reports To

Surgical Services Business Manager

Supervises

None

Physical Demands

Work is moderately active with sitting and frequent movement in the office and facility. May involve lifting or moving objects and occasional travel within the SRHS service area. Repetitive motion from keyboard use. Exposure to body fluids or tissues may occur; proper safety protocols apply.

Mental Demands

Must demonstrate keen mental faculties, strong written and verbal communication, and the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Attention to detail and the ability to multi-task in complex situations. Ability to maintain professional relationships across SRHS and partner organizations.

Special Demands

Superior customer service, professional etiquette, and proficient computer skills (keyboard proficient) with MS Outlook and Word. Ability to apply clinical judgment appropriate to a patient population of all ages.
