Heavy Equipment Operator

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team. This position is responsible for operating a variety of heavy machinery to support construction, excavation, and site development projects. The ideal candidate has experience operating equipment safely and efficiently while following project plans and safety guidelines.

• Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, dozers, loaders, graders, rollers, and skid steers
• Perform grading, excavation, trenching, and site preparation work
• Read and interpret construction plans, grade stakes, and site layouts
• Follow all company and OSHA safety regulations while operating equipment
• Conduct daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance checks
• Work with supervisors and crew members to ensure projects stay on schedule
• Assist with site cleanup and other duties as needed
• Report equipment issues or safety concerns immediately

• Previous experience operating heavy equipment in construction or civil projects
• Knowledge of grading, excavation, and site preparation practices
• Ability to read grade stakes and construction plans preferred
• Strong understanding of jobsite safety procedures
• Valid driver's license required (CDL preferred depending on role)
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical labor when required

• Experience with GPS-guided equipment
• Experience in roadwork, utilities, or site development
• OSHA certification or other safety training
