CNA: Certified Nursing Assistant - Assisted Living

Overview

United Methodist Communities (UMC) is currently seeking a CNA:
Certified Nursing Assistant for The Shores
, our Senior Care Community located in Ocean City, NJ within picturesque Cape May County. Pay rate up to $22/hour
, based on experience, plus shift differential. Full Time Night.

• Perform personal care activities for residents
• Complete daily skin checks and report changes to nurse immediately
• Participate in the dining experience, including serving, clearing, cutting and feeding based on residents  strengths
• Share resident preferences with other staff using appropriate communication methods
• Maintain continuity of care daily by timely documenting and communicating care tasks completed with each resident in the point of care kiosk
• Attend and actively participate in Interdisciplinary Team Care Plan meetings to identify residents  strength-based approaches and skills for assigned residents
• Assist residents with adaptive equipment (e.g., walkers, wheelchairs, eyeglasses, dentures, hearing aids)
• Follow restorative nursing principles to help residents maintain their optimal level of function
• Read and understand the individualized summary plan and provide support accordingly
• Observe and identify changing needs and conditions, reporting immediately to nursing as appropriate
• Take and record vital signs and weights as instructed by the nurse; rounds performed to identify residents needing assistance
• Perform treatment tasks under supervision of the licensed nurse and therapist
• Seek opportunities to learn through in-services training programs, nursing staff meetings and mandatory training

• High School Diploma or GED
• 6 months experience in a long-term care setting
• Current and valid CNA certification in New Jersey
