Join the World Equestrian Center team as a Cook 1 for the Polo Pony new American‑cuisine concept located within the prestigious Equestrian Manor. This role is ideal for experienced culinarians with mastery of flattop and roasting techniques, a refined palate, and a commitment to excellence in a high‑volume, upscale kitchen.

As a Cook 1 at Polo Pony you will be responsible for executing complex cooking techniques, managing station prep and service, and ensuring consistency and quality in every dish. Your precision, leadership, and culinary expertise reflect the World Equestrian Center’s core values of quality, class, and distinction.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Execute dishes with consistency, accuracy, and finesse during high‑volume service.
  • Perform advanced prep tasks including precise chopping, measuring, portioning, and station setup.
  • Follow detailed recipes and plating instructions to uphold culinary standards and presentation.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workstation throughout prep and service.
  • Demonstrate safe handling and operation of kitchen equipment and ingredients.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with team members and culinary leadership.
  • Monitor food quality and assist with inventory rotation to ensure freshness and minimize waste.
  • Lead assigned station with confidence, mentoring junior cooks and supporting team development.
  • Collaborate with Sous Chef and Chef de Cuisine to manage prep flow and service execution.
  • Uphold the highest standards of sanitation, safety, and kitchen professionalism.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods in a fast‑paced kitchen environment.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Manual dexterity and strength to operate kitchen equipment and handle ingredients.
  • Clear and effective communication in both verbal and written formats.
Qualifications, Education, Experience,

Skills and Abilities
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in upscale or fine‑dining kitchens.
  • Advanced knowledge of flattop and roasting techniques.
  • Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Ability to multitask and lead station operations under pressure.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Serv Safe certification required.
  • A genuine passion for culinary arts and team collaboration.
