Job Description
- The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) represents the face of the company to patients who visit, whether as part of their routine health care or for life-impacting health insights.
- The PSR II is responsible for drawing quality blood samples from patients and preparing those specimens for lab testing while adhering to established procedures.
- This role requires direct patient contact, creating an atmosphere of trust and professionalism while maintaining confidentiality and accuracy in patient information.
- Successful candidates may be assigned to a doctor's office, patient service center, or other locations as needed.
- Perform daily activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor.
- Maintain a safe and professional environment.
- Perform forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties following established practices and procedures.
- Verify patient demographic information and ensure specimens are properly labeled in the patient’s presence.
- Maintain required records and documentation.
- Demonstrate organizational commitment and promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public.
- Ability to provide quality, error‑free work in a fast‑paced environment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal on‑site supervision.
- Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric.
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on‑call, and overtime as required.
- Commitment to company policies, dress code, and safety standards.
- Sound judgment and decision‑making skills based on established procedures.
- Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record (if applicable).
- Flexibility to travel and cover multiple locations with minimal notice.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities in a high‑volume setting.
- Strong customer focus with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Ability to adapt to change and maintain a professional demeanor.
- Excellent phlebotomy and specimen handling skills.
- Strong customer service orientation.
- Data entry and basic computer proficiency.
- High school diploma or equivalent (required).
- Medical training (medical assistant or paramedic) preferred.
- Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in California, Nevada, and Washington).
- 1–3 years of phlebotomy experience required, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
- 2 years of experience in a Patient Service Center environment preferred.
- Customer service experience in a retail or service setting strongly preferred.
- Keyboard/data entry experience required.
