Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in patient care and a solid understanding of medical procedures, particularly in settings such as clinics, urgent care centers, and trauma centers. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our medical staff and ensuring that patients receive high-quality care.
Responsibilities
- Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures.
- Prepare patients for examinations by taking vital signs and medical histories.
- Administer medications as directed and perform basic laboratory tests.
- Maintain accurate patient records, including coding for insurance purposes.
- Support the clinical team in managing patient flow within the clinic or urgent care setting.
- Ensure compliance with health regulations and safety protocols.
- Educate patients on health maintenance and disease prevention.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in both inpatient and outpatient settings, including Level I and Level II Trauma Centers.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Medical Assistant or in a similar role is preferred.
- Knowledge of physiology, internal medicine, and pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) practices is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with coding practices for insurance purposes is an advantage.
- Ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments such as clinics or urgent care facilities.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to provide compassionate patient care.
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or equivalent is preferred but not mandatory.
