Physical Therapist (Full-Time - PT) - Ocala Health & Rehab

To ensure the highest quality of care while providing therapy services to patients and supervising therapy assistants, in accordance with current standards, guidelines, and regulations.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Provides physical therapy services based on a physician’s written plan of care, including:
    • Assessing and evaluating therapeutic, rehabilitative, and functional status, and participating in developing the overall care plan.
    • Assessing muscle strength, mobility, gait, and range of motion (ROM).
    • Directing physical therapy treatments.
    • Instructing patients and families/caregivers on the use and care of therapeutic appliances.
    • Determining priority needs for physical therapy.
    • Reporting to physicians on patient reactions to treatments or changes in condition.
  • Initiates physical therapy and trains personnel and/or family/caregivers in specific therapy phases, goals, and case conferences.
  • May train in prosthetic device use.
  • Prepares and submits clinical and progress summaries as per company policy.
  • Maintains communication with the care team to promote coordinated care.
  • Participates in in-services, case conferences, and meetings to ensure comprehensive patient care plans.
  • Identifies patient and family/caregiver needs and makes appropriate referrals.
  • Instructs family/caregivers and staff on treatment regimes when appropriate.
  • Supervises physical therapy assistants according to policy and regulations.
  • Adheres to all company policies and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Degree from an accredited baccalaureate or master’s program in physical therapy.
    • Valid, current license to practice in the state.
    • At least two (2) years of clinical experience.
    • Good verbal and written communication, and organizational skills.
    • Familiarity with computer use, including programs, files, apps, internet, email, and confidentiality practices. Experience with Apple devices is a plus.
    • Must have a valid driver’s license, insured vehicle, and be capable of travel.
    • Must be capable of performing job functions with or without accommodations.
    • For Outpatient positions, active AHA CPR certification is required.
