U-Dump Trailers, a long-established manufacturing company based in Ocala, FL, is seeking a hands‑on Accounting Manager to lead our accounting and finance function and support the next stage of our growth. This role blends Accounting Manager responsibilities with select higher‑level duties and offers a clear path to a Controller role as the company scales. U‑Dump restructured its operations in 2025 to sell primarily through wholesale channels and has grown the number of wholesale outlets from five to over 60 locations and will continue to expand the footprint in 2026 as part of our growth initiative.
Aboutthe Role
We’re looking for a detail‑oriented, operationally savvy manager who is comfortable rolling up their sleeves, closing the books, performing account reconciliations, tightening controls, and improving processes while also contributing at a strategic level as the Company grows. Experience in manufacturing cost accounting, budgeting/forecasting, lender & floorplan relationships, and cash management is essential. This position reports to the President and requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent problem‑solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently.
Key Responsibilities- Lead accounting operations: GL, AR/AP, month‑end procedures, financial statement preparation and analysis
- Manage a small team of support staff of two (AR/AP specialists)
- Own the cost accounting process including bills of materials, standard costing and collaboration with plant management and operations team to drive efficiency
- Support the HR function and oversee payroll, commissions, benefits and other employee matters
- Manage corporate insurance requirements
- Build 13‑week cash flow forecasts and support EBITDA goals
- Own sales tax compliance functions
- Manage banking & floor plan relationships
- Support production, operations, and leadership with financial visibility and analytics
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or MBA preferred but not required
- 5+ years of accounting/finance experience (heavy manufacturing experience preferred)
- Strong cost accounting and operational finance skillset
- Hands‑on, process‑driven leader who can both execute and advise
- Proficiency in accounting and other software (Quick Books, Fishbowl, Avalara, Excel)
- Excellent attention to detail, strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience with change management
