OverviewAs a Mortgage Banker Outside Sales representative, you will originate and close mortgage loans by engaging clients, building referral relationships with real estate brokers, builders, developers and branch partners, and actively soliciting business through direct sales activities in the field.
Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities- Maintain an active Ameris Bank sponsored Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry (NMLS) number in compliance with federal S.A.F.E Act requirements.
- Establish and nurture client relationships with realtors, builders, developers, branches and referral agents on an ongoing basis.
- Contact potential or existing customers in person or by phone to develop new business or retain existing business.
- Advise customers on eligible products, ensuring selections meet their financial needs and avoiding steering.
- Assist customers with loan applications, required documentation, disclosures, and submission within scheduled timelines.
- Oversee loan processing, monitor status, and communicate workflow and file coordination to processors, collecting additional documents as needed.
- Adhere to established fee and product pricing structures.
- Network through industry functions, professional, business and community organizations to promote loan products monthly.
- Attend purchase loan closing transactions on behalf of Ameris Bank Mortgage as required.
- Communicate with branch managers regularly to update on sales call efforts.
- Meet with loan processors to review pipeline reports for accuracy and status.
- Support cross‑selling opportunities with branch managers and sales personnel.
- Keep informed on all Ameris Bank Mortgage loan programs and comply with regulatory and compliance requirements.
- Meet or exceed minimum production standards as outlined in the compensation agreement.
- Attend all required meetings and complete all training.
- Follow the work schedule designated by management.
- Practice ethical sales behaviors aligned with Ameris Bank’s core values of Integrity and Honesty.
- Experience using mortgage origination applications.
- Effective use of a contact management system.
- Knowledge of mortgage products, servicing, operations and current market trends.
- Proven mortgage production of $5 million over the past year.
- Proven success in establishing referral relationships.
- Minimum 1 year of mortgage experience.
- Minimum 1 year of customer service experience.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
