The Engineering Supervisor is responsible for overseeing engineering personnel and assisting with preventative maintenance and repair operations throughout the World Equestrian Center. Reporting directly to the Chief Engineer or designated Supervisor, this role begins each shift with turnover communication and task assignment. The Engineering Supervisor plays a key role in maintaining the property’s infrastructure and ensuring a safe, efficient, and guest-ready environment.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Supervise engineering staff and support daily maintenance operations.
  • Assist the Chief Engineer in managing engineering and maintenance activities across hotel property, restaurants, and grounds.
  • Support hotel engineering maintenance programs and complete daily, weekly, and monthly checklists.
  • Conduct property walkthroughs, update logs, and report urgent issues to the Director of Engineering or Chief Engineer; initiate repairs as needed.
  • Perform preventive maintenance work orders and monitor engineering equipment.
  • Maintain guest rooms and HVAC systems, including boilers, chillers, air handling units, water pumps, exhaust fans, and related components.
  • Replace filters, belts, bearings, fans, insulation, and drain pans as needed.
  • Troubleshoot and repair locks, televisions, phones, and lighting systems.
  • Demonstrate comfort with manual handling and flexibility with work hours.
  • Complete other duties as assigned by leadership.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand and walk continuously for up to 8 hours.
  • Must be able to reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Frequent use of hands and fingers for handling tools and equipment.
  • Visual acuity for close inspection and repair work.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly and hear effectively.

Qualifications, Education, Experience,

Skills and Abilities:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred with Valid EPA Certificate.
  • Computer literate and knowledge of (BMS) Building Management System
  • Minimum of 5+ years of maintenance engineering experience in hotel properties
  • Excellent level of spoken and written English
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Ability to prioritize when faced with multiple projects simultaneously
  • General understanding of HVAC/R, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry concepts
  • Certification in above trades, completion of seminar for specialized training such as Fire Safety Director, FDNY COF’s for Sprinkler & Standpipe, back-up generator preferred
  • Knowledge of HOTSOS preferred
  • Ability to work in a high-paced environment.
  • Strong ability to multitask.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Valid EPA Certification required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of maintenance engineering experience in hotel properties.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and prioritize multiple projects.
  • General understanding of HVAC/R, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry systems.
  • Certifications in relevant trades and specialized training (e.g., Fire Safety Director, FDNY Certificates of Fitness for Sprinkler & Standpipe, backup generator) preferred.
  • Familiarity with HOTSOS or similar maintenance tracking systems.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks effectively.
