Job Responsibilities:

This role involves operating Acme-Gridley automatic screw machines to produce precision components. You will be responsible for:

• Setting up and operating Acme-Gridley machines according to job specifications
• Reading and interpreting blueprints to determine part dimensions and setup
• Loading raw materials and positioning stock
• Monitoring machining processes including turning, facing, knurling, thread chasing, drilling, grooving, and cutting
• Taking measurements and inspecting finished parts to ensure accuracy
• Identifying and correcting malfunctions or tool wear
• Performing basic machine maintenance and adjustments as needed
• Maintaining adherence to quality standards and safety procedures

Required Qualifications:

• Proven experience operating Acme-Gridley machines
• Ability to read blueprints and use precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers)
• Solid understanding of basic math, geometry, and trigonometry
• Familiarity with manufacturing and machine shop environments
• Knowledge of tooling, cutting fluids, and general machining practices
• Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail
