Required:
While working in the office, standard work boots are required; no additional PPE is necessary. When entering or working in the plant or operational areas, the following PPE is required at all times: lace‑up steel‑toe boots at least 6” high for ankle support, gloves, safety glasses, high‑visibility vest, hard hat and ear plugs.
Summary / Objective
The Workforce Coordinator performs a variety of tasks within our recycling facility. The primary responsibility of the Workforce Coordinator is supporting the On‑Site Manager to assist in administrative functions. This includes supervising staff, ensuring safety standards are met, coordinating training, handling interviews, personnel record management, onboarding, and payroll activities while providing customer service support. This position will actively support the team and assist with the processing and sorting of recyclable materials to ensure continuous workflow.
EssentialFunctions Customer Service and Communications
- Maintains ongoing relationship with multiple customer representatives within facility.
- Able to communicate with all personnel at the facility.
- Interviews candidates for open positions.
- Responsible for the completion and retention of all forms, documentation and training records.
- Maintains positive employee relations following a professional level.
- Facilitate new hire onboarding, including orientation sessions, safety training coordination, and paperwork completion.
- Track absenteeism and timekeeping for assigned team.
- Ensure employees understand their benefits options.
- Assist in program documentation and eligibility inquiries.
- Collate employee timesheets for payroll processing. Manage and monitor data for accurate payroll reporting to corporate office on a daily and weekly basis.
- Ensures that human resources files and records are updated in accordance with legal requirements by providing personnel management with accurate personnel information.
- Assist with investigations, disciplinary actions, and documentation as directed by HR or management.
- Maintain and request PPE supplies to proper inventory levels.
- Monitor the safety of the site during operations and address any safety hazards or violations.
Flexibility and Adaptability: Workforce Coordinator must adjust to changing circumstances, such as fluctuating workloads, staffing changes, or unexpected operational disruptions. Has multitasking capabilities by comfortably switching between HR, administrative, and operational tasks.
Safety: Workforce Coordinator must understand safety protocols to minimize workplace accidents and ensure a safe working environment. Ability to assess risks and prevent hazards. Respond to incidents or accidents in accordance with safety policies.
Administrative: Workforce Coordinator must be skilled in conducting job interviews, assisting in recruitment efforts, and managing the onboarding process for new hires. Proficient in managing schedules, handling HR documents, maintaining records and completing clerical duties with attention to detail. Proficiency with office software and HR tools. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
Problem‑solving and Critical Thinking: Shift Coordinator must have the ability to quickly identify issues and come up with effective solutions to maintain efficiency. Ability to make quick and informed decisions.

Workforce Coordinator must be able to handle customer inquiries or concerns, actively listen to team members, understand concerns and provide appropriate feedback and guidance. Able to communicate effectively with staff, management, HR and ensure expectations are understood.
This position holds the responsibility for the administrative management within the facility with accountability for the hiring, training and support of all employees assigned to the facility.
