Overview
Due to an increase in demand from a new customer in Oban, we are seeking a Class 2 HGV driver, preferably with HIAB experience although training will be provided for a suitable candidate.
The company is the UK's largest supplier of building materials for the construction industry, with a network of over 500 branches nationwide. It offers thousands of products and materials, along with a tool hire service, catering to trade professionals and self-builders alike.
Immediate start
Your role is pivotal to their operation and, working independently, you will be responsible for delivering safely to various sites across the region. Yard work is required when not on the road. A positive attitude is essential.
Employment Type: Full-time, Monday to Friday 07:30 to 17:00 and alternate Saturdays 08:00 to 12:00.
About the RoleWe are seeking a qualified and dedicated HGV Driver to join our team, delivering across various locations, including remote island areas. This role requires flexibility for travel and a commitment to safe, reliable delivery.
Key Responsibilities- Drive and operate an LGV to deliver to various locations.
- Ensure safe and compliant handling and transportation of hazardous materials.
- Carry out basic vehicle maintenance and pre-trip checks.
- Complete required paperwork and ensure accurate delivery records.
- Follow all company, safety, and regulatory guidelines.
- Valid LGV (HGV) driving license.
- CPC Card.
- HIAB certification is beneficial, but training can be provided for the right candidate.
- Ability to pass a DVLA medical prior to employment and regularly thereafter. Pass a company driving assessment within 3 months.
- Maximum of 3 points.
Basic Salary £31,600 with overtime and benefits.

This is a temp-to-perm position. Pay / PAYE rate from £17.14 per hour. Working for Driver Hire Paisley you will pay pension benefits; all PAYE and National Insurance is paid directly to HMRC.
