Handy / Maintenance Person

Pay: from £15.00 per hour (dependent on experience)

We are seeking a reliable and hands‑on Handy/Maintenance Person to support the upkeep and presentation of Corran House Guest House, Markie Dans Bar, and surrounding grounds. This varied role is ideal for a practical, organised individual who can work independently while maintaining high safety and maintenance standards across our properties.

Please note:

This is not a live‑in position, and we are unable to offer visa sponsorship.

• Carry out general maintenance and repairs, including painting, basic plumbing, minor electrical work within competency, carpentry, TV maintenance, and gardening
• Complete routine inspections, walk‑round checks, and preventative maintenance
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and prioritise tasks effectively
• Perform fire alarm, extinguisher safety checks, emergency lighting tests, pat tests and maintain accurate records
• Install equipment and liaise with external contractors when required
• Maintain job cards, inventory records, and time tracking
• Manage stock control and ensure timely replenishment of consumables
• Help maintain a safe, clean, and well‑presented environment for guests and staff

• Previous maintenance or hands‑on trade experience
• Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
• Reliable, punctual, and well organiser
• A proactive attitude and pride in quality workmanship
