Job Responsibilities- Provide facility members and patrons with safe and effective fitness classes tailored to a variety of individual fitness levels and needs.
- Professionally represent the facility and Town of Oakville as a whole, including consistent implementation of regulations and protocols, assisting participants and providing technique correction, responding to incidents/emergencies, providing excellent customer service.
- Make recommendations to the Recreation Coordinator based on observations and user feedback regarding types of fitness classes, operations, and policy.
- Professionally correspond with the Recreation Staff, Facility Operators and Front Desk Staff to ensure the smooth operation of the facility and its program spaces, including maintenance and customer service concerns.
- Evaluate and monitor fitness class participants to ensure program content and level of difficulty are appropriate and adjusted as needed.
- Review program description in detail for classes you will be teaching to ensure planned content aligns with program expectation
- Ensure safety of participants.
- Provide excellent customer service including professional conduct and communication and creating a welcoming environment for participants.
- Support and promote the HIGH FIVE Principles of Healthy Development.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Fitness certifications must be obtained from a Nationally recognized organization.
- Experience in a specialized area is an asset:
Yoga, Pilates, Group Fitness, Strength Classes, Stability Ball, Kettle Bell, TRX, Bosu, Spin, Kickboxing, Zumba, Cross-Fit, Child/Youth Fitness, Older Adult Fitness and exercise rehabilitation. - HIGH FIVE Principles of Healthy Child Development (PHCD) certification is a requirement for leading Children’s Fitness Classes
- The candidate must present a satisfactory criminal records check with vulnerable sector screening, dated within the last 30 days, prior to commencing the position.
