Skilled Trade – Industrial Mechanic Millwright - Oakville, ON
Job Description
Industrial Mechanic Millwright Journey persons at Ford’s Oakville Assembly Complex are paid an hourly base rate of $55.95 per hour plus applicable shift, overtime, and holiday premiums.
At Ford Motor Company, the Oakville Assembly Complex is expanding and retooling its vehicle operations. As an Industrial Mechanic Millwright, you will help shape the future of vehicle manufacturing in Canada and support the launch of new vehicle programs.
Responsibilities
- Adhere to all health and safety rules in compliance with government, industry, and corporate standards
- Maintain equipment in a safe & efficient manner
- Assist other trades/operators as required
- Participate in the training of Industrial Mechanic Millwright apprentices as required
- Participate in problem‑solving meetings to help eliminate all downtime
- Coordinate repairs and preventative maintenance scheduling to meet job deadlines
- Generate and implement cost savings and process improvement suggestions
Qualifications
- Must have completed a recognized apprenticeship and hold a Certificate of Qualification (CofQ) 433A (if a Certificate of Apprenticeship has not been attained, applicants with 8 years of experience in the trade after receiving the CofQ will be considered).
- Must be able to work all shifts (days, afternoons, midnights) on a rotating schedule
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong background on equipment/machinery operation
- Use of precision tools such as laser alignment equipment, dial indicators, micrometers and precision and optical levels
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative and supportive team environment
- Experience in:
- Machine tools such as lathes and milling machines and fabrication tools such as welders, brakes, presses, power threaders and punches
- Testing equipment such as vibration analysis and other techniques used in predictive and preventive maintenance
- Installing, maintaining and servicing compressed air, water and exhaust ducting to robotics, pumps, presses, compressors, turbines, material‑handling systems, gearbox
- Drawing, schematics, rigging/hoisting, power transmission systems, pneumatic and hydraulic systems
- Welding, brazing, soldering, pipe systems and valves
- Use of minor repair and overhead bridge and gantry crane
Note:
Successful candidates will be required to provide proof of degree completion for the highest level of education attained. If the degree was obtained from a school outside of Canada, an Education Credential Assessment report showing Canadian equivalency is also required.
