Job Description We are seeking a skilled Security and Emergency Telecommunications Operator to join our state-of-the-art security control center in Oakville, Canada. In this critical role, you will be responsible for managing emergency communications, coordinating security responses, and ensuring the safety of our healthcare facility through efficient dispatch operations.
Operate advanced radio, telephone, and telecommunications equipment to receive and relay critical informationPrioritize and dispatch emergency and non-emergency service calls to security personnelCoordinate with Security Team Leaders and emergency response teams during critical situationsMaintain accurate logs and records in the dispatch and mobile records management systemProvide clear instructions and information to healthcare staff, municipal emergency services, and other agenciesMonitor and operate facility security and life safety systemsEnsure compliance with security protocols and report non-compliance issuesTrain new dispatchers and security service provider's staffSupport parking operations, enforcement activities, and access control managementServe as a front-line representative providing excellent customer serviceQualifications
High school diploma (Grade 12) or equivalent requiredPost-secondary certificate/diploma in Emergency Telecommunications or related fieldMental Health First Aid Certificate (must be completed within 3 months of hire)Emergency Management IMS 100 certification (must be completed within 3 months of hire)Proven experience working with advanced life safety and security systems in a centralized dispatch environmentExcellent verbal and written communication skills with a clear speaking voiceStrong proficiency in operating security and telecommunications systemsDemonstrated ability to maintain composure and make quick decisions in high-stress situationsAdvanced multi-tasking and organizational abilitiesStrong problem-solving and critical thinking skillsProficient computer skills and ability to learn new technical systemsCustomer service-oriented mindset with strong interpersonal skillsFlexibility to work in shifts as requiredPhysical presence required at the Oakville facilityAdditional Information
