About you

- Setup and manage warehouse areas and inventory locations, both main storage and point of use storage locations, ensuring the proper storage and identification of raw materials and finished goods.
- Establish appropriate cycle count methodology and perform regular cycle counts, investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies.
- Work with Engineering and Manufacturing teams to set up and maintain point of use inventory locations.
- Regularly perform audits of inventory locations, looking for damaged, deteriorated or expired inventory, remove it from inventory through the appropriate documentation and material handling processes.
- Perform regular stock rotation, ensuring that FIFO is practiced for all inventory.
- Perform daily inventory transactions including receipts, put-away, transfers, issues, and returns in alignment with established procedures.
- Maintain accurate inventory records in the ERP/MRP system, ensuring correct part numbers, quantities, locations, and lot/serial information.
- Follow procedures for proper packaging of finished products for stocking and shipping.
- Perform visual inspections of incoming materials, noting and reporting any damage or discrepancies to received materials.
- Monitor stock levels for assigned categories, flag potential shortages, and support reordering activities with Supply Chain and Purchasing.
- Support proper handling, labeling, and storage of materials, including temperature-controlled and hazardous items, in accordance with safety and quality requirements.
- Assist with processing nonconforming material, returns to vendor, and scrap, ensuring appropriate documentation and system updates.
- Keep inventory storage areas organized, clean, and compliant with 5S and EHS expectations.
- Collaborate with Warehouse, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Quality to resolve inventory issues and improve material flow.
- 2–4 years of experience in inventory control, materials management, warehousing, or a related operations role.
- Experience in a manufacturing, medical device, pharma, biotech, or technical environment is an asset.
- Familiarity with ERP/MRP or inventory management systems and comfort working with structured data.
- Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.
- Basic understanding of inventory concepts (e.g., cycle counts, FIFO/FEFO, lot control, safety stock).
- Proficiency with spreadsheets and basic reporting to review and reconcile inventory information.
- Good communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional partners.
- Ability to work on-site, be on your feet, and safely handle boxes, totes, and materials as required.
- Capability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 20 kg
- Experience with controlled environments (labs, clean rooms) or specialized storage (cold chain, hazardous materials).
- Knowledge of quality systems and documentation in regulated industries.
- Forklift certification and experience
- Experience with packaging and shipping reagents, consumables and electro-mechanical assemblies and components
- Exposure to lean, 5S, or other continuous improvement practices.
- Experience in a start-up or scale-up setting where processes are evolving.
- Play a key role in ensuring that the right materials are in the right place at the right time to support groundbreaking diagnostic products.
