Back Of House Manager

The ideal candidate will have experience managing kitchens, bakeries or similar work spaces, a strong work ethic, happy demeanor, strong problem solving and math skills, and be able to inspire their team to achieve the high standards Kelly’s Bake Shoppe holds. This person is expected to have great organizational and time management skills.

• Overseeing and creating daily operations and production, including weekly and monthly production schedules, maintain par levels, and more
• Quality Control & food safety of all baked goods and raw ingredients
• Staff management & training – ensuring all staff are properly trained on all tasks, are supported and meeting standards of production. Includes reviews and disciplinary meetings.
• Conduct and lead monthly inventory accurately
• Managing orders for raw ingredients & materials
• Scheduling BOH staff
• Manage maintenance and repairs of bakery equipment

• Baking and Pastry Arts Diploma, Culinary Management Diploma favoured but not a necessity.
• Management experience working commercial bakery, restaurant or similar workplace
• Experience with organic, vegan, peanut free and gluten free baking is useful but not essential
• Demonstrated belief in and commitment to positive, healthy food, lifestyle and planet
• Physical ability to work standing for several hours at a time reach, bend, stoop; and frequently lift up to 50 pounds
• Flexibility to work rotating shifts throughout the week. Includes weekends, early morning, over nights and afternoons.

We are looking to fill a full time position for this role. Weekends, mornings, evenings and holidays are essential.
