Position Summary:
Burloak Technologies is seeking an experienced Accountant for a 6‑month contract to support month‑end close, financial reporting, invoicing, reconciliations, fixed assets accounting, audit activities etc. Reporting to and working closely with the Director, Finance, this role requires strong Excel skills, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.
- Perform month‑end close activities including journal entries, financial analysis, and preparation of monthly financial statements.
- Support year‑end reporting and audit processes in collaboration with Director, Finance.
- Conduct variance analysis of financial results and financial statements.
- Prepare timely and accurate customer invoicing, including using various customer portals.
- Complete new customer forms and set up.
- Manage accounting for fixed asset registers and Capital‑in‑progress (CIP) projects.
- Record and reconcile Sales orders.
- Review, analyze, and code vendor invoices.
- Ensure compliance with applicable taxes and statutory requirements.
- Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations, including inter‑company accounts.
- Perform accounts receivable collections for past‑due customers.
- Cross‑train and provide backup support for other accounting duties.
- Participate in special projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Post‑secondary degree in Accounting required.
- 4+ years of relevant accounting or finance experience.
- Working experience with ERP systems;
Microsoft D365 or Quick Books is an asset. - Advanced skills with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Strong working knowledge of Excel required.
- Ability to administer effective communication skills across all levels of the organization and work well under pressure and deadlines.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills required, very high attention to detail.
- Ability to set priorities, meet deadlines, and multi‑task with minimal supervision.
- Problem‑solving skills and the ability to take ownership of projects, driving them to timely, efficient, and accurate completion.
- Ability to multitask on projects requiring broad skill sets, while maintaining high standards of work in a fast‑paced environment, with competing priorities.
The expected annual compensation range for this position is $56,480 to $70,600. Actual compensation will depend on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and experience. We also consider internal equity to ensure fair and consistent pay practices. This range reflects the expected full compensation range for this role; most offers will fall within the range and not at the maximum in order to allow for future growth.
