Job Requirements

Job Summary

As part of the Electrical, Instrumentation & Controls (EI&C) Engineering team, you will work collaboratively with a cross‑functional engineering group executing custom project designs, meeting customer expectations, and ensuring quality, schedule, budget, and risk mitigation objectives are achieved. You will complete electrical and/or instrumentation design for a wide range of water technologies. Responsibilities include developing instrument/automatic valve lists and datasheets, creating instrument installation details, assisting with panel schematics and I/O lists, supporting production facilities, participating in customer‑facing factory acceptance tests, and assisting during commissioning.

  • Ability to collaborate in and lead cross‑functional project team discussions and client meetings.
  • Proven ability to develop and follow procedures and standards while extrapolating new concepts when required.
  • Knowledge of or willingness to learn equipment and processes related to Veolia WTS products and systems.
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Read, interpret, and comment on engineering documents including P&IDs, GAs, process guidelines, return of experience, and best‑practice guides.
  • Interpret and follow contract and customer specifications.
  • Perform calculations and select appropriate instrumentation for water treatment facilities, generating all supporting documentation (instrument lists, termination drawings, datasheets, etc.), while considering operator and equipment safety.
  • Manage budget, scope, and schedule; proactively identify risks and opportunities.
  • Select equipment and design complex low‑voltage industrial control systems in compliance with UL and CEC, including Class 1 Div 2 environments (single line diagrams, load lists, I/O lists, panel design, schematics, network architectures).
  • Support project bids and provide technical guidance to meet customer needs.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Experience designing complex low‑voltage industrial control systems compliant with UL and CEC.
  • Experience designing control panels and selecting equipment for Class 1 Div 2 areas.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills (coordination, reporting, documentation, presentations).
Education & Experience

Bachelor of Electrical Engineering or equivalent.

Experience with complex industrial control system design.

Minimum 10 years of relevant or related experience.

Preferred
  • Understanding of hydraulics and fluid mechanics.
  • Knowledge of basic water chemistry.
  • Experience with control systems, PLCs, HMI, SCADA design and programming.
  • Basic technical knowledge of industrial control systems.
  • Understanding of low‑voltage power distribution design.
