Bray Canada is seeking a Takeoff Estimator (HVAC & Data Center) to support our preconstruction and estimating team. This role is responsible for producing accurate mechanical and automated (control) takeoffs and contributing to competitive, well-scoped estimates for commercial, industrial, and mission-critical/data center projects.

• Prepare detailed HVAC quantity takeoffs from drawings, specifications, and addenda.
• Develop accurate material, labour, and equipment pricing for bids and budgets.
• Assist with conceptual, design-build, and hard-bid estimates.
• Review drawings and specifications to identify scope gaps, risks, and clarifications.
• Support pricing of change orders, alternates, and value engineering options.
• Process order entry and create purchase orders in accordance with approved sales and procurement requirements.

• Assist with estimating HVAC systems for data center and mission-critical facilities.
• Coordinate mechanical scope with electrical, controls, and structural trades.
• Develop working knowledge of redundancy strategies including N, N+1, and 2N systems.

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Systems, Construction Management, or equivalent experience.
• 3–6 years of HVAC estimating or mechanical construction experience.
• Proficiency with Bluebeam, Plan Swift, Trimble/Accubid, and Excel.
• Familiarity with D365.
• Ability to interpret mechanical plans and specifications.
• Control valve & actuator knowledge considered an asset.
• Able to work with multi-discipline projects with a timely turnaround process.
• Familiarity with manufacturing methods and procedures.
• Project management, process improvement and documentation skills are an asset.
• Strong organizational, time management, and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• A personable, approachable attitude with effective presentation skills and a collaborative approach to working with others.
• Technical aptitude and comfort with minimal administrative support.
