Senior or Lead Project Controls – Mining, Minerals and Metals
Join Worley as a Senior or Lead Project Controls Specialist, responsible for ensuring on‑time, on‑budget delivery of large‑scale capital projects within the Mining, Minerals, and Metals sector.
PurposeWe are seeking an experienced and highly analytical professional to serve as a subject matter expert in all facets of project control, including cost, schedule, estimating, and reporting, working closely with Project Management and Executive Leadership.
Key Responsibilities- Project Planning and Scheduling – develop and maintain integrated master schedules (Level 3‑5) using Primavera P6 for all project phases.
- Perform critical path analysis to identify potential delays and advise on mitigation and recovery plans.
- Manage and control the scheduling baseline, ensuring change tracking and approval via formal change management.
- Oversee the progress measurement system (physical and earned value) and coordinate reporting.
- Cost Control and Forecasting – establish and maintain WBS and CBS, manage detailed budget and cash‑flow forecasts, monitor expenditures, analyze variances.
- Implement and maintain Earned Value Management (EVM) principles, calculate SPI, CPI, EAC, etc.
- Support internal estimates and external proposals for capital projects.
- Reporting, Analysis, and Leadership – prepare and present comprehensive monthly status reports, lead change‑management process, champion adherence to project controls procedures.
- Lead role: manage, mentor, and train a team of junior project controls analysts/specialists.
- Senior‑level, progressive experience in project controls for large‑scale EPC/EPCM industrial projects.
- Direct experience within Mining, Minerals, or Metals sectors is essential.
- Expert‑level proficiency in Primavera P6 and advanced MS Excel (Power Query, Pivot Tables).
- Strong understanding of EVM methodologies.
- Exceptional analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or related field.
- Experience with integrated project management systems (SAP, Oracle, InEight, Eco Sys, Power BI).
- Previous experience in a lead or supervisory role.
- Knowledge of Canadian regulatory and permitting processes related to mining projects.
