Position Overview

The Project Planner position is responsible for supporting the Project Planning team by providing coordination and support for timely and accurate room layout design including support for sales quotes, renderings, technical design, and coordination with customers. The Project Planner is expected to provide process improvement ideas, develop procedures and documentation, and contribute to the team environment. This position reports to Head, Project Management and Operations and will be based in Oakville, Ontario.

This role will cover projects across entire Canada.

Responsibilities
  • Create accurate project layout and installation drawings according to the customer design specifications and, specifically, design for a medical environment: hospitals, clinics, etc.
  • Create and update drawing templates across all modalities.
  • Participate in customer meetings with respect to room layout design.
  • Make site visits to understand room layout requirements, especially for hybrid rooms.
  • Ensure the correct interpretation of product specifications and the proper creation of structural, electrical, and mechanical drawings.
  • Review, revise and verify technical drawings to ensure functionality.
  • Ensure technical documents adhere to regulatory standards.
  • Compile required documents and information to complete the project drawings.
  • Prepare reports and technical documentation as required.
  • Perform filing, archiving, maintenance of files and records and enter project information into computer database.
  • Remain informed on design issues through self‑education and external training.
  • Address and resolve internal/external inquiries and technical issues.
  • Substitute for and/or assist department staff and perform other duties as required.
  • Show strong prioritization and time‑management skills, with a high degree of flexibility.
  • Demonstrate appropriate sense of urgency and adaptability in response to changing business needs.

Qualifications
  • Post‑secondary education as an Architectural Technologist or equivalent.
  • 3–5 years of related experience developing clear space‑planning and workflow concepts (healthcare/medical experience is an asset).
  • Excellent skills and working knowledge of AutoCAD. Having some 3D room design software experience is an asset.
  • Good knowledge of designing process and strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under time constraints and adapt to change.
  • Good organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work within a team environment.
  • Working knowledge of related computer applications (MS Office Professional, MS Project).
  • Good problem‑solving and analytical skills.
  • Second business language is an asset.
  • Fluent verbal and written communication skills in English. French fluency is a major asset.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Preference for a candidate in the GTA area, but all regions in Canada will be considered.
Base Pay Range

Min $69,500 – Max $119,500
