Area Manager – Construction OversightThe Area Manager is responsible for overseeing all construction activities within a designated project area. The role ensures execution aligns with project schedules, safety standards, and quality requirements while managing multiple work fronts, coordinating with subcontractors, and maintaining compliance with contractual obligations.
How You Will Contribute- Oversee and coordinate construction activities within the Mill Area to meet project milestones and translate schedules into daily and weekly execution plans.
- Manage and supervise subcontractors, ensuring alignment with project scope, budget, and quality standards.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, safety compliance, and quality control.
- Ensure implementation of safety protocols and adherence to environmental and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and project controls teams to optimize work execution.
- Identify and resolve technical and logistical challenges to maintain construction momentum.
- Provide leadership and direction to on‑site teams, ensuring clarity in roles and responsibilities.
- Monitor cost performance and implement corrective measures to mitigate budget overruns.
- Prepare progress reports, documenting key achievements, issues, and recommendations for improvement.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for client representatives and project stakeholders within the assigned area.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 10 years of experience managing construction activities in large‑scale industrial or infrastructure projects.
- Prior experience supervising/leading a Mill Area, including crushing and grinding circuits (SAG mills, ball mills), conveyors, feeders, chutes, cyclones, screens, thickeners, structural steel, concrete foundations, mechanical equipment installation, piping, electrical, instrumentation within the mill footprint, and tie‑ins to utilities and process systems.
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing multiple work fronts and subcontractors.
- Proficiency in construction management software and scheduling tools.
- Comprehensive understanding of safety regulations, quality control, and contractual obligations.
- Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Benefits and CompensationThe salary range is $142,400 – $175,300 CAD annually, depending on education, experience, skills, and geography. A&M also offers a discretionary bonus program based on individual and firm performance. Please ask your recruiter for details.
