Job Description
Our client, a leading construction organization located in Oakville is looking for an experienced General/Building Construction Estimator with 10+ years’ experience in a similar role. The company is growing its team and they need you.

Experience
Your experience you bring will include:

Successfully led pursuits valued at up to $200 million in various delivery methods.

Knowledge of different construction methods; planning, scheduling, sequencing, quality, safety, and timelines.

Extensive knowledge of key principles involved in bid preparation; including quantity takeoff procedures and systems, subtrade partner procurement, pricing, interdepartmental functions, general expense philosophy and bid-closing procedures.

Understanding of compensation models, market conditions, business trends, and competitors to develop win strategies.

Responsibilities

Leads medium-to-large estimates or components of large estimates and is accountable for that specific scope of work. Leads win strategy development.

Conducts detailed analysis of contract documents and specifications to determine and validate overall project requirements.

Ensures the completion of full quantity take-offs of all labor, equipment, and materials from project documents and identifies missing information.

Leads the development of conceptual estimate proposal submissions and presentations to support construction management and design-build pursuits.

Supports the estimate lead by populating tender forms, generating requests for information, anticipating proposal requirements, and assisting to establish a pursuit schedule.

Required Skills / Experience

Bachelor’s degree or diploma in related discipline or trade experience or equivalent.

12 years of progressive experience in construction cost estimating, and 6–12 months of on‑site experience is preferred.

Knowledge of different construction methods; planning, scheduling, sequencing, quality, safety, and timelines.
