Seasonal, Summer Camp Program
Compensation:
Starts at $650 weekly
Full‑time hours between June 22 – August 28, 2026
Position SummaryAs the Inclusion Facilitator, you will be responsible for supporting the Head Instructor and Instructors (Level I & II) within a specific camp program. Your role includes assisting campers who may need additional support strategies to be fully included in the camp program. You will work as part of a team to ensure a safe, productive, and enjoyable experience for all campers.

- Provide support to the Instructors, helping to ensure that camp activities are inclusive to all participants
- Supervise assigned camper(s), learning their name(s) on the first day, and always knowing their whereabouts
- Foster a sense of community within assigned camper group where individuals care for and are mindful of one another
- Provide 1‑to‑1 or 1‑to‑2 inclusion support to campers with exceptionalities
- Create programming to integrate campers with exceptionalities into camp activities
- Communicate regularly with parents of assigned camper providing feedback about camper’s experience at camp
- Correct and redirect inappropriate camper behaviours
- Participate actively in all camp programs where appropriate, based on needs of assigned camper(s)
- Follow all Appleby College Camp procedures and policies, including Appleby’s Mutual Respect policy
- Participate in all required training related to Health & Safety
- Act as inclusion resource to all camp staff
- Have completed a minimum of Secondary School prior to the start of the camp program
- Have experience working with children with special needs or behavioral exceptionalities
- Have experience providing programming or care to persons with disabilities
- Have experience working or volunteering with children in a camp setting (preferred)
- Hold academic training in Special Education, Personal Support Worker (PSW), Developmental Services Worker (DSW), or Therapeutic Recreation (considered an asset)
- Have additional training in mental health first aid, crisis intervention, PSW, DSW (asset)
- Exhibit excellent time management, organization, and communication skills
- Be team‑oriented, motivational, and creative
- Be energetic and enthusiastic
- Hold Bronze Cross and/or NLS lifeguard certification (asset)

- Saturday May 30 & Sunday May 31, 2026 (Full Days)
- Saturday June 13, 2026 (Full Day)
- Sunday June 14, 2026 (Full Day)
- Camp Session Dates:
June 22 – August 28, 2026 - Monday to Friday 8:15 am–4:15 pm
- Mandatory Orientation:
First day of each week, 7:30 am–4:30 pm
