Job Title: Staff Accountant, Audit and Assurance

Permanent, Full-Time

Our client, a public accounting firm in Oakville, ON, is currently looking for a Staff Accountant to join their team.

Responsibilities:

• Work with the Assurance team to complete audits and reviews.
• Complete smaller audits from start to finish.
• Travel to client locations as needed.
• Assist with larger audit engagements and tax assignments.
• Prepare and maintain payroll, government remittances/filings, sales records, accounts receivable, expenses, accounts payable, and payroll transactions.
• Prepare HST returns, financial statements, and personal and corporate tax returns.
• Handle bookkeeping for clients.
• Assist with financial planning documentation.

Qualifications:

• Post-secondary accounting education is required.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in public accounting.
• CPA designation or pursuit thereof is required.
• Strong time-management skills and self-motivation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective interaction with staff and clients.
• Proficiency with Case Ware, Profile/Tax Prep, MS Office, and Quick Books.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Ability to build lasting client relationships and contribute to team success.
