Fabrication Supervisor - 2nd Shift

Amerlux, a pioneer in the lighting industry for over 35 years, is seeking a 2nd Shift Supervisor in our Fabrication Department to join our production team in our Oakland, NJ production facility.

Work schedule is Monday - Friday 2:00pm to 11:00pm. Must be able to work OT based on business needs.

The Fabrication Supervisor will be responsible for supervising the 2nd shift Machine Operators, Painters and Parts Hangers based on the production schedule; including assigning work, managing the workloads and overseeing the staff of six to seven painters and machine operators. This position will also train on the machines and equipment, and will be required to operate them as necessary to meet business objectives.

• Maintains and delegates work load for the Machine and Paint Shop departments to ensure production needs are met in a timely and organized manner.
• Ensure all production related detail is reflected accurately in the Oracle ERP system, as relates to production status, work orders, and inventory transactions.
• Ensure that fabricated parts meet the engineering drawings, using drawings and measuring equipment as needed.
• Provide direction to Paint Shop employees on the proper coating and masking techniques required for each component.
• Must ensure that product meets the established quality standards and notify Management of any exceptions.
• Observe all safety requirements as specified by the Company, and contribute to machining and paint areas safety standards and procedures.
• Supports and leads Teamwork, Safety and Quality in all assigned work areas; adhering to all OSHA and Amerlux requirements.
• Other duties as deemed appropriate by Management and the Company.

• High School or equivalent.
• Associate or Technical degree preferred.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience in a metal fabrication facilty.
• 5+ years of experience in a Supervisory role in a manufacturing environment.
• Must be able to read detailed Engineering drawings, working knowledge of AutoCAD or Inventor is a plus.
• Must possess the ability to work well with others, and with little supervision.
• Experience with Microsoft Office applications and knowledge of ERP systems.
• Personal ownership and accountability with sound decision making and problem solving capabilities
• English/Spanish bilingual, a plus.

The hourly range for this position is between $25 and $26 per hour, based on candidates skills and experiences. There is also a 12% shift differencial for working the 2nd shift.
