Overview
Records Retention Clerk manages and maintains an organization's records, ensuring they are properly stored, organized, and accessible according to established retention policies and procedures. They play a crucial role in records management, facilitating the efficient retrieval and disposition of records while adhering to legal and organizational requirements. Under the administrative direction of the General Manager, the Records Archivists in the development of File Bank record retention schedule based on Artemis record retention policy.
In addition, the Records Retention Archivists will assist with the inventory of records for File Bank.
- Assist with maintaining and updating the Enterprise Records Retention Schedule for all corporate records.
- Manage the enforcement of the Records Retention Schedule by coordinating with relevant functions across the Enterprise including Information Technology, Compliance and the various lines of business.
- Manage and direct the operation of on-site and off-site physical records storage, and make determinations and provide guidance on the proper transfer, storage, retention and destruction of records in compliance with Records Management policies.
- Manage and oversee Records Management retrieval of records, as appropriate, to meet requests for documentation and provide assistance as needed.
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
- Submit all disposition to Artemis.
- 401(k).
- 8 hour shift.
- Monday to Friday.
- Oakland, NJ 07436.
- Associate (Preferred).
- Records Management: 2 years.
- Microsoft Office: 1 year (Preferred).
Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of record-keeping systems and procedures: Understanding how to organize, classify, and store records effectively.
- Familiarity with records retention schedules: Being able to interpret and apply retention policies.
- Proficiency in using record management software: Experience with electronic document management systems or other relevant software.
- Strong organizational and time management skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Attention to detail: Accuracy is crucial in maintaining and managing records.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills: Ability to interact with various departments and individuals.
- Physical ability to handle records: May involve lifting, moving, and organizing physical files.
- Demonstrated ability to work well within a collaborative team environment.
- Ability to work well independently, and collaborate as a member of a team.
- On a normal work day, this position requires:
- Prolonged periods of sitting and reaching.
- Extensive use of hands, fingers and arms in operations requiring constant handling of paper documents, computing and entering data using a keyboard.
- Exerting up to 30 lbs. occasionally or negligible weights frequently.
- The ability to speak and read the English language clearly and concisely.
