Position: Document Scanner Operator (1st Shift)

Essential/Key Areas of Responsibility:

  • Document Preparation: Sorting, counting, and separating documents, as well as removing staples and paperclips to get them ready for scanning.
  • Insert document separator sheets when applicable.
  • Scanning Operations: Operating various types of scanners, such as flatbed and high-speed sheet-fed scanners, large format scanners to create high-quality digital images.
  • Quality Assurance: Reviewing scanned documents to ensure they are legible, properly aligned, and complete, minimizing the need for rescans.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Performing basic cleaning and maintenance on scanning equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Ability to lift 30 - 40 lbs.
  • Confidentiality: Handling sensitive information with care and maintaining the confidentiality of documents.
Requirements:
  • Attention to Detail: Crucial for ensuring accuracy and completeness of scanned documents, as these are often used for critical business processes.
  • Computer Literacy: Basic computer skills are necessary for operating scanning software and document management systems.
  • Familiarity with Equipment: Experience with different types of scanners and an understanding of their features and advantages.
  • Organizational

    Skills:

    The ability to keep documents and digital files in good order.
  • Reliability and Efficiency: A strong work ethic, adherence to procedures, and the ability to maintain focus and efficiency during repetitive tasks.
  • Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is generally required for the position.
  • Experience with prepping and scanning documents.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
Technical Skills and Proficiency:
  • Knowledge of document prepping and scanning process.
  • Knowledge of scanning software.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Environment.
