Must possess or be eligible for appropriate Maine Department of Education teacher certification.
RSU 18 is looking for a collaborative and skilled Gifted and Talented (GT) teacher to work primarily with identified students in grades 3 through 5. The successful candidate will have or be eligible for a 690 Gifted & Talented Endorsement in addition to a teaching certificate, expertise in differentiation. This position includes providing direct and indirect instructional support through individual and small group instruction.
The role also includes regular consultation with classroom teachers, supporting professional development specific to giftedness, and overseeing the GT screening and identification process. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills and work collaboratively with teachers and administrators to support GT students as part of a holistic framework within the school community.
