Overview
Location - Oakland/Hayward, CA
The Aircraft Maintenance Technician is responsible for daily maintenance tasks on aircraft, guided by the Crew Chief. This person ensures all maintenance work meets safety and quality standards as outlined in the General Operating Manual (GOM) and General Maintenance Manual (GMM).
Key Duties and Responsibilities- Works under the Crew Chief and follows assigned tasks.
- Completes work according to company rules, FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) regulations, and maintains high-quality workmanship.
- Checks and secures parts needed for maintenance, verifies their authenticity, completes necessary paperwork, and manages inventory.
- May need to travel on flights to offer maintenance support.
- May need to respond quickly to issues when an aircraft is on the ground and requires immediate attention (AOG). Performs both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, including checks before and after flights.
- Helps with maintenance and inspections of hangar and shop facilities as needed.
- Ensures proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials (like fuel, oils, and batteries) and follows safety procedures by using the right personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Learns to use the Company Computerized Maintenance Program to check the status of aircraft.
- Keeps accurate records of all maintenance done on company aircraft.
- Completes all required training.
- Maintains all company ground support equipment (GSE) as directed.
- Regularly attends safety and other meetings with the Crew Chief, Aircraft Fleet Manager, or Director of Maintenance as needed.
- Performs other tasks assigned by the Crew Chief.
Education & Experience:
- FAA Airframe and Powerplant license.
- Must have Corporate Jet experience
- At least 1 year of experience working with turbine-powered aircraft in Part 135 or Part 145 operations.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities- Ability to read and understand company manuals, FAA regulations, and aircraft maintenance manuals.
- Good written and spoken communication skills.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office programs like Outlook and Excel.
- Flexible schedule to work overtime since flight schedules and maintenance needs can change quickly.
- Willingness to travel occasionally for off-site maintenance events and to oversee maintenance at other facilities.
