Overview

The Student Information Systems, Campus Integration Applications team is recruiting an experienced Senior Developer to lead the technical design and development of our enterprise-grade software solutions. This hands‑on, senior‑level role focuses on modernizing university systems using NestJS, Angular, Mongo

DB, Postgre

SQL, and cutting‑edge Artificial Intelligence to automate and enhance student services.

• Own the full software development lifecycle from architectural planning to production deployment.
• Engineer scalable web applications and design robust RESTful APIs that connect user interfaces, backend services, and AI tools such as LLMs and semantic search engines.
• Deploy and manage applications on Google Cloud Platform, ensuring secure, high‑availability solutions.
• Bridge new technologies with established infrastructure, maintaining and integrating legacy systems as needed.
• Define complex software specifications, oversee code quality, govern Git Hub workflows, and mentor junior developers.

• Proficiency with NestJS, Angular, Mongo

• Deep knowledge of secure software development practices.
• Experience deploying and managing applications on Google Cloud Platform.
• Technical leadership ability with proven mentoring experience.
• Strong communication skills and the capacity to collaborate across technical and business teams.

Salary range: $93,200 – $174,200 annually. The pay scale for this position is up to $131,208 annually, based on education, licensure, certifications, experience, and organizational needs.

Position is predominantly remote with occasional campus visits as needed. Working hours are based on Pacific Standard Time (PST). Applicants must have current work authorization at the time of hiring; UCR does not sponsor work visas.
