Auto Glass Installation Technician Trainee at Safelite

As a Technician Trainee, you will undergo comprehensive hands‑on and classroom training, earning our Safelite Safe Tech certification and becoming fully proficient in unsupervised glass work. WhatYou Will Do
- Be paid to learn and apprentice the Safelite way, through hands‑on and classroom training.
- Observe and assist in installing and repairing auto glass.
- Recalibrate automotive safety systems, troubleshoot, and complete diagnostic testing.
- Provide additional services and products to customers.
- Study for and pass testing to become a Safelite‑certified Technician, demonstrating proficiency, positive attitude, and adherence to taught techniques.
- Safely operate company and customer vehicles, company‑issued tools, and chemicals used on the job.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support team operations.
- Comply with all company policies and standards.
- Competitive weekly pay starting at $25.50/hr, rising to $30.25/hr after training and certification.
- Earn $5 for each set of wiper blades added for customer safety.

- Option to buy additional PTO or sell unused time up to 16 hours.

- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent (preferred).
- Valid state‑issued driver’s license (required); other licenses may be required by federal, state, and local laws.
- Must be 18 years of age or older (required).
- Ability to regularly lift and carry up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, work in tight spaces, bend, and twist body.
- Proficient use of hand tools and power tools.
- Experience operating a motor vehicle in compliance with all applicable laws and camera monitoring.
- Professionalism and passion for exceptional customer service.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and temperatures.
- Experience handling chemicals, including flammable substances.
- Flexible scheduling with varying start and end times.
- Proficiency with computerized diagnostic tools for recalibration and troubleshooting.
- Strong problem‑solving skills, both independently and collaboratively.
- Reading, writing, and interpreting English language and technical directions.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Adherence to professional appearance, dress code, and PPE policies.
- Resilience under professional or personal pressure.
