BSG is seeking a qualified professional for a dual‑capacity role at a prestigious private University in Oakland, performing the duties of an Armed Security Officer and an Armed Supervisor on a rotating daily basis. Applicants with Law Enforcement, Military, or US‑Based Law Enforcement Training Academy experience will be prioritized.

This unique position requires a flexible leader capable of transitioning between front‑line protection and operational oversight. The individual will serve as an Armed Security Officer on designated days and as the Armed Supervisor on others, ensuring consistent safety standards across all shifts. The Security team is cross trained to monitor all security, communications and fire/life safety systems, and is the liaison between campus personnel, students, law enforcement and BSG management.

• Shift: Full Time Morning, Part Time Grave (Weekend availability required).
• Hourly Rate: $36.00 per hour for Armed, $41.00 per hour for Supervisor.

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Eligibility to work in the United States.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Possess a current California Guard Card License.
• Must have had an armed permit for at least 5 years OR have previous Law Enforcement, Military or Post Academy experience.
• A valid Driver's License and a clean driving record for 3 years is required.
• Reliable transportation is necessary.
• Proficient in basic computer and smartphone usage.
• Must be able to speak, read, and write in English to create accurate reports; additional language skills are a plus.
• Strong listening skills, patience, and compassion, particularly when interacting with community members experiencing emotional or psychological challenges.
• Ability to remain calm in crisis situations, think critically, de‑escalate conflicts, and communicate effectively.
• Maintain a positive, professional demeanor in adherence to all laws, regulations, company policies, and confidentiality standards.
• Ensure compliance with both company and client policies and procedures while being open to performance improvement.
• Possess a clear understanding of emergency response procedures and protocols.
• At least one year of experience in security, mobile patrol, or event staff roles.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Successfully pass a background check and drug screening.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
