BSG is hiring an experienced Security Officer to cover multiple sites in Oakland, including downtown and a prestigious university. The position will cover static and roving positions as well as Incident Response. The ideal candidate will be equipped with specialized skills in de-escalation and crisis management, ensuring the safety and well-being of our university and community. This Flex position requires Open Availability to cover all shifts any day of the week and requires that the Officer possess experience working with students, the public, and clients at a variety of sites.

This position requires a strong commitment to proactive security measures, effective communication, and rapid response to incidents. The Flex Security Officer position will be directly responsible for the accurate documentation of routine and unusual events occurring on or near the campus, buildings, and downtown region. The team must maintain an expert level of knowledge of the campus rules and always provide professional interactions that promote safety and confidence for the people that encompass the property.

The Flex Security Officer provides a wide variety of essential services to the Uptown Downtown Oakland Community Benefit Districts and our private college campus. As a Flex Security Officer, your duties will be varied; however, the ideal candidate will demonstrate interpersonal skills that contribute to the delivery of an exceptional client and community experience. The Flex position requires open availability to cover Morning, Swing, and Grave shifts, Monday through Sunday, with a minimum 8-hour notice.

Flex Security Officers play a crucial role in maintaining a safe and welcoming environment in our city's downtown area and at a prestigious private college campus. Patrolling on foot, by bike, or by vehicle, they serve as a visible deterrent to unwanted behavior and activities, offering assistance, information, and directions to downtown workers, residents, students, faculty, and visitors.

This is a flex full-time position for Morning, Swing, and Grave shifts with a minimum 8-hour notice as needed. Candidates must have the ability to work up to 10-hour shifts any day within a 7‑day week.
