The Cook is responsible for preparation of food for Patient Food Services, Café, Coffee shops and conference center events. This person establishes and monitors food quality standards to ensure consistency and highest quality standards for UCSF Medical Center to include food temperature monitoring. As member of the culinary services team, the Cook solves problems related to the culinary services unit before, during and after meal periods.

The incumbent is expected to assist with and maintain safety and sanitation within the department.

  The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Salary range listed as $36.23 - $36.23 hourly rate.

As member of the culinary services team, the Cook solves problems related to the culinary services unit before, during and after meal periods.

The incumbent is expected to assist with and maintain safety and sanitation within the department.

• State of California Food Handler Certification; or within three months of hire
• High School diploma or combination of education and experience
• Graduation from a recognized Culinary School; or two years food production
• Read, write and be understood in English
• The flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Health locations

• Experience in training and developing culinary and other production staff
• Experience in the practice of HACCP standards
