We’re seeking mission-driven, detail-oriented Assistant Property Managers who want to build their skills in affordable housing operations, resident engagement, and compliance while working alongside experienced Property Managers and cross-functional partners.

Assistant Property Managers support the day-to-day operations of assigned properties and serve as a key partner to the Property Manager. You’ll help ensure leasing, rent collection, documentation, maintenance coordination, and resident communication are handled consistently, equitably, and in compliance with EBALDC and regulatory requirements.
You’ll also serve as a backup to the Property Manager as assigned, gaining exposure to higher-level operational, compliance, and leadership responsibilities.
- Support leasing, applicant screening, and resident onboarding
- Assist with rent collection, payment tracking, and account updates in Yardi
- Maintain accurate, audit-ready resident files and documentation
- Coordinate maintenance requests, inspections, and unit turnovers
- Respond to routine resident concerns and escalate complex issues appropriately
- Apply EBALDC policies using trauma-informed and culturally responsive practices
- Support site safety, emergency preparedness, and incident reporting
- Participate in training related to fair housing, compliance, safety, and DEI
- Support Property Managers with reporting and compliance tracking
- Help onboard new site staff
- Participate in cross-functional projects and internal committees
- Strong customer service and professional communication skills
- Comfort using digital systems such as Yardi and Microsoft Office
- Ability to follow procedures, document accurately, and escalate concerns
- Commitment to equity, fair housing, and resident-centered service
- 1–3 years in property management, housing operations, or resident-facing roles
- Exposure to affordable housing, HUD, Section 8, or LIHTC compliance
- Bilingual in Chinese and/or Spanish (a plus)
- On-site presence across assigned properties
- Occasional evenings or weekends as needed
- Ability to walk properties, climb stairs, and access residential units
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds
- Regular use of computers, phones, and office systems
