Job Summary

The UCSF Pediatric Perioperative Resource Team (PPRT) provides nursing coverage to the Pediatric Perioperative units at Mission Bay, Oakland, and Walnut Creek campuses. This unique float position oversees the care of patients within the 9‑bed Mission Bay Operating Room, 12‑bed Level One Trauma Oakland Operating Room, and 3‑bed Walnut Creek Ambulatory Care Center. Perioperative nurses are adaptable, taking on challenging assignments and providing staff coverage where needed.

Our nurses are cross‑trained in caring for patients across all specialties and work closely with inter‑professional teams. Job type:
Per Diem (20% of full‑time)

Salary range: $111.29 – $144.16 per hour. Final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy and internal equity. Placement within the range will be guided by work experience and the collective bargaining agreement for labor union–represented positions.

• Three years’ full‑time inpatient pediatric operating room RN clinical experience
• Proficiency in circulating general, laparoscopic, orthopedic, ENT, urology, and neurosurgical cases in a pediatric acute‑care setting
• Flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Health locations
• Excellent verbal and written skills; well‑organized, detail‑oriented, able to multi‑task and work independently under pressure
• Basic computer keyboard skills and general PC knowledge

• Experience in general surgery, orthopedics, neuro, and Level 1 trauma
• Proficiency in functioning as a scrub nurse
• Specialty certification – CNOR
• BSN

Active Registered Nurse licensure in the State of California; active American Heart Association CPR certification.
