Overview
Community Resource Coordinator
The Resource Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the Center of Reentry Excellence (CORE) main site in Oakland and satellite site in Hayward are both connected to partners in their surrounding communities that are able to provide appropriate supportive services to CORE Members. This role will also regularly coordinate community events designed to promote services available through CORE, bring needed information and resources to justice impacted communities, and foster collaboration among the various stakeholders throughout Alameda County that support CORE’s Members.
This is a full-time, non-exempt position reporting to the CORE Site Manager. On-call evening and weekend work may be required, often on short notice.
- Events and Forums
:
The Community Resource Coordinator will be responsible to provide CORE event coordination and facilitate monthly Community Resource Forums (CRF) – an event where clients re-entering the community can connect with a network of service providers at one time and place. The Community Resource Coordinator will partner with other CORE staff to ensure CRFs provide accurate and useful information to those in attendance.
The Resource Coordinator will be responsible for the planning and execution of all CRF events. - CORE Team Collaboration

The Community Resource Coordinator will partner with the CORE staff team to ensure Community Resource Forums and events cater to Members served at the CORE center. In addition, the CRF will be responsible for the administration and oversight of our Ambassador’s program. - Facilitation
:
Create and deliver workshop curriculum to participants in a culturally accountable, participant-centered way; includes utilizing experiential and didactic facilitation techniques appropriate to adult learners, communicating information about participants to other CORE staff as appropriate, and filling in for other facilitators as necessary. - Workshop Coordination
:
Includes the development and delivery of monthly recurring workshop schedules, and completing administrative tasks related to scheduling and administering workshops and facilitating workshop when requested to support CORE operations. - Outreach
:
The Community Resource Coordinator will conduct outreach to ensure a variety of Skilled Providers who meet the needs of clients and the re-entry community as a whole attend CRFs. The Community Resource Forum Specialist will invite, encourage, and verify attendance and participation of Skilled Providers at CRF events. - Calendar
:
The Community Resource Coordinator will create and maintain a yearly event calendar to share electronically with partners and collaborators. In addition, keep the community informed about CORE services and CORE informed about the community events.
- Solid proficiency with motivational interviewing and trauma informed care principles required; working knowledge of how to effectively coach and support others is desired.
- Experience with helping others navigate the multiple, complex obstacles to prosperity for people in poverty; solid understanding of social, institutional and systemic causes of poverty; strong knowledge of local service provider networks that work with communities most impacted by poverty.
- Incumbent must proactively further equity, justice and inclusion while providing exemplary service quality to the community.

- Skillful teamwork and leadership; solid organizational abilities; excellent oral and written communication and facilitation skills.
- This position requires the incumbent to travel efficiently throughout the East Bay. If this person opts to meet these travel requirements by driving, proof of a valid and current driver license, current auto insurance, and an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report are required.
- $27-$31/hr.
